After smartphones and tablets the next key frontier for Google
to dominate is the TV. Google TV has been in the US for a while and is coming
to the UK this month. However, the past few weeks have seen the launch of two
new initiatives that may get Google's Android operating system closer to the
big screen.
The first is Ouya, a games console built on Android that is being developed via the crowd-funding site Kickstarter. |

The second is Google's own Nexus Q media streamer - designed
to stream music & videos from Google's Play store as well as YouTube.
As Android starts to sneak into our living rooms we envisage a point whereby our TVs simply become just another big screen running Android, Windows or Apple's iOS that we're already familiar with on our tablets, computers and smartphones. To read more click here. |
