First it was eBay and now UPS has jumped on the fast delivery
service bandwagon. The logistics company has partnered with London-based
delivery service provider Shutl, who plans to offer customers a 90-minute
delivery window or the option of picking a one-hour window of their choice on
any day.
Ease of delivery has been in growing demand in online retailing - Amazon already offers a Prime subscription service where consumers can receive purchases within 2 days for a fee of £49/$79 per year and is now looking at how it also offers same-day delivery. This will have huge implications for the offline retailers - as one of the key reasons for still shopping on the High Street is the immediacy of being able to take-away the product and not wait days for delivery.
